Where is the earliest birthplace of Huangmei Opera?

Huangmei Opera originated in Huangmei and developed in Anhui. Especially in the 1950s, the Anhui Huangmei Opera Troupe adapted the traditional Huangmei play "Dong Yong's Selling His Body" into "The Fairy's Match" and put it on the screen. Huangmei Opera became famous all over the world. Internally and externally, it has become one of the “five major opera genres” in the country. Anhui's "Susong County Chronicle" in 1920 recorded that "it is in the southwest of the city and borders Huangmei. Plum custom is popular in tea-picking dramas, also known as Huangmei Opera.

Chinese opera historian and opera theorist Zhou Yibai wrote in "The Development of Chinese Opera History" "Compendium" says: "Huangmei Opera originated from the tea-picking opera in Huangmei County, Hubei Province."
