With the official launch of Shougang's Beijing-area steel industry's production reduction of 4 million tons, Shougang's No. 4 blast furnace ceased production on January 5, 2008. In order to fulfill its Olympic commitments, the climax of Shougang's relocation began. The production reduction of 4 million tons is an unprecedented systematic project with the largest scale of production suspension, the most equipment closures, and the widest coverage since the relocation and adjustment plan was approved by Shougang.
The new site of Shougang after relocation was chosen on a small island called Caofeidian on the Bohai Sea. This small island with "a deep trough facing the sea and a shoal against the land" attracted Shougang with its unique geographical and location advantages. The settlement of Shougang has also made this small island, which has been sleeping silently for more than 5,000 years, become the focus of attention in Hebei, Beijing, China and even the entire world overnight.
Of course, the land area on the island is limited. At the beginning of the construction of the entire Caofeidian Industrial Zone, land reclamation took the lead in becoming a spectacular sight before large-scale industrial construction. Now, the construction scene of the new Shougang blast furnace steel plant and steel beams and iron columns have given Caofeidian, a formerly desolate island, renewed vitality. The blast furnace frame structure and furnace shell installation of the ironmaking system are basically completed. Hot rolling, cold rolling and other steel rolling systems are undergoing plant foundation construction. The 2,250 mm hot rolling mill has successfully completed the hoisting of the finishing mill archway and entered the ground on March 6, 2008. Equipment installation stage. It is expected that the first phase of the Shougang Jingtang Iron and Steel Plant will be completed and put into operation in October 2008.
Since the end of 2007, Shougang has implemented various production suspension measures, and has successively suspended production of No. 4 and No. 2 blast furnaces, 4 sintering machines and the third steelmaking plant. In order to minimize pollution emissions during the Olympic Games, extraordinary measures will be taken in the third quarter of 2008 to organize production at 200,000 tons of steel per month, and the output will be reduced to less than 30% of normal levels. According to estimates, after the implementation of the above measures, Shougang's various pollutant emissions in Beijing will be further reduced significantly in 2008 compared with 2007. Among them, smoke and dust emissions dropped by 50.32%, dust emissions dropped by 49.22%, and sulfur dioxide emissions dropped by 49.18%. In the third quarter of 2008, emissions will drop by more than 70% during the Olympic Games.
Shougang Group’s own design institute, Beijing Shougang Design Institute, undertook all the design work for Caofeidian’s new steel enterprise. The chief designer is Zhang Fuming, a professor-level senior engineer who is also the deputy dean. He said that all new Shougang plants should implement the concept of circular economy. In terms of circular economy, New Shougang will integrate the latest environmental protection technologies in the world and build a recyclable steel enterprise. New Shougang should create the concept of "green manufacturing" and do more work for society and the harmony between man and nature in terms of energy conservation and environmental protection.
In fact, not only does New Shougang implement a circular economy model, the entire Caofeidian Industrial Zone is also one of the first industrial parks in the country to develop a circular economy pilot. The circular economy of New Shougang is also part of the circular economy of the entire industrial zone. In accordance with the overall idea of ??circular economy development, Caofeidian Industrial Zone plans to build a number of comprehensive resource utilization and industrial waste reuse projects.
It mainly includes: using coal tar from the steel industry to refining coke, building a 300,000-ton coal tar deep processing device, and developing coal chemicals and deep-processing products; using industrial waste residue from steel plants and power plants to build a cement ultrafine powder with an annual output of 3 million tons Project; use the cooled seawater from the power plant to build a seawater desalination project. The concentrated brine produced by seawater desalination is processed and used in the chlor-alkali industry.
New Shougang also absorbs 300,000 to 500,000 tons of social industrial waste and waste plastics for processing in the entire industrial zone every year. This technology is a patent developed by Shougang itself for "Utilizing the Steel Industry to Process Urban Waste Technology". It uses high-temperature steel technology to process waste plastics, including white waste that cannot be processed by garbage treatment plants. After processing, 1 ton of waste plastic can replace 1 ton to 1.2 tons of coal.
