Administrative history of Majin Town:

Majin Town has a long history. The ancient town of Majin was first named in Kaihua. Textual research on the cultural relics unearthed from Shuangxikou, Zhongcun Township, a neighboring township in 1979, shows that as far back as the Neolithic Age, human beings thrived in this land, engaged in farming, animal husbandry, fishing and hunting, pottery making and other production activities. In the third year of Changqing in Tang Muzong (823), Ma Jin started to set up a market town, which belongs to Chonghua Township. Ma Jin was called ten capitals in Yuan Dynasty. In the Republic of China, it was called Majin Town. After liberation, Majin Town has always been the seat of Majin District Office. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was called Majin Township and was the resident of Majin District Office. In 1985, it was renamed Majin Town. In May, 1992, the area was withdrawn, the town was expanded and the township was merged, and the original Xutang Township was merged into Majin Town. In September 25, the county's administrative divisions were adjusted, and the original Xiashan Township area was merged into Majin Town. Now it has jurisdiction over 53 administrative villages, 12 natural villages and 261 villagers' groups, with a total population of 34, and a total area of 153.3 square kilometers, making it the third largest town in Kaihua County. It now governs Shangjie, Xiajie, Jieshou, Paitian, Lantian, Huangjinglin, Yanghe, Tangyan, Chaikeng, Shantou, Hutou, Shangjiangkeng, Xiajiangkeng, Yaojiayi, Yaojiaer, Mingtangwu, Xingtian, Neixutang, Waixutang, Henglingdi, Huangtian, Su Yang and Yangfan. The total area is 98.7 square kilometers, including 315 hectares in urban areas.

In March p>211, 53 administrative villages in Majin Town, Kaihua County were reorganized into 26 administrative villages. The names of new villages were
