Melvin Mencher, a tenured professor at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, was awarded "Outstanding Educator" by the American Association of Journalism and Mass Communication. He studied at the University of New Mexico and the University of Colorado in his early years. 1947, has worked for several newspapers in united press international, New Mexico and California, and served as the special correspondent of Christian Science Monitor in China and the United States. He was a Niemann scholar at Harvard University. 1958 teaches at the University of Kansas and Humboldt State University, 1962- 1990 teaches at the School of Journalism, Columbia University.

Zhan Jiang, Master of Laws, Doctor. Engaged in journalism 10 years, currently a professor in the Department of International Journalism and Communication, School of English, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and a double professor in the School of Communication and Design, Sun Yat-sen University. In 2009, he won the 5th Peking University Teacher Award.

Main research areas: (1) English journalism and communication, sociology, anthropology classic translation. Representative translated millions of words of American News History, News Reporting and Writing, News and Justice (three volumes) and Immigration Newspaper and Its Control. (2) Comparative news communication history between China and foreign countries, political communication (especially focusing on public opinion supervision), wartime news communication, media law and media ethics.
