Does Daobei refer to a region?

"Daobei" is a well-known regional title in Xi 'an, which appeared in the 1930s. From 65438 to 0934, the Longhai Railway, which is of great significance in the development history of Xi 'an, was completed and opened to traffic, bringing vitality to Xi 'an's economic development and a large number of immigrants. At that time, the desolate and dilapidated area around Daming Palace and the area north of the railway station became shelters for victims of the Yellow River burst in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and "Daobei" and "Daobei people" became synonymous with this place and its people. Since then, a large number of refugees from war-torn areas have moved here, and foreign residents account for more than 80% of the local population, far exceeding the aborigines. They made a living by building shacks and digging caves, and formed a new residential group in Xi 'an. Later, they became residential areas for industrial workers and their families because of the tenth section of Longhai Railway and Dahua Textile Factory.

Before liberation, the economy and people's livelihood in Daobei were very depressed, and the people lived at the bottom of society. Even after liberation, some social ills in Daobei have been difficult to completely solve. A series of long-standing problems, such as difficulty in traveling, toilet, flood control, drinking water and public security, have been puzzling the lives of ordinary people in northern Daobei, affecting the image of northern Daobei people and restricting the development of northern Daobei area. Therefore, people outside Daobei have some prejudice against Daobei people, and Daobei people feel inferior.
