I still remember the fantasy island I read in the novel. There is an indescribable magical landscape on the island shrouded in fog. The island shows its outline against the mysterious fog, quietly disappearing into the beautiful complex of hebrides again, without a trace. The islands of Scotland add up to more than 1000!

These islands are like gems dotted on the sea, either dazzling, warm or noble and mysterious, but countless other artists and poets are reluctant to leave, only belonging to Lewis Island &; Harris i.

Lewis and Harris is the largest island in hebrides outside Scotland, with a population of about19,918. The coast is winding and the river is short. The northern part of the island is called Lewis and the southern part is called Harris. Harris is mostly mountainous, with peaks as high as more than 300 meters, and the highest Clisham Mountain is 799 meters above sea level.

Lewis is relatively flat, with an altitude of 57 1 m in the southeast and 575 meters in the southwest. Lewis covers an area of 1, 770 square kilometers. Salmon, trout and wild birds abound here. Stonove is the only city that graduated mainly from hand-weaving. On Lewis Island, there is a prehistoric megalithic group-Carani Shicheng Ring, which is a ring with a diameter of13m. Here stands the remains of an ancient whaling station built by Norwegians in the early 20th century. It was closed during World War I and reopened, and was bought by Lord Leverhulme in 1922. One of his ideas was to turn whale meat into African sausages, but this plan (like most other plans) failed.

By 1925, Leverhulme was dead, and a few years later, the whaling station was abandoned. 1950 was taken over by another Norwegian, operated for two years and finally closed. Today, its huge chimney reminds people of a more prosperous era, and now it has become a must-see spot for tourists, who like to learn about the whaling history on the island through it.

Sir james m. barrie, the author of Peter Pan, mentioned this station in his play "marie rose" written in 1920 when he lived in Amhuinnsuidhe Castle.

Hushinish is a beautiful beach, located at the end of B887 Road. Here, you can see the beautiful white sand beach and the winding coastline around. Walking through the grass and mahar on the right side of the road, you can see Cliff Island.

Scarp is the site of a strange experiment designed by Gerhardt Zucher in Germany to convince the British government that mail and medical supplies can be transported to remote islands by rocket. 1On Saturday, July 28th, 934, he used one of his rockets to send 4800 letters from the cliff to Kushnish at the speed of 1000 miles per hour. As a result, the whole letter exploded and scattered all over the coast. Three days later, he tried the experiment again in Amhuinnsuidhe's field, failed and gave up. Needless to say, his idea didn't come true.

Sanclemente Church is cruciform, which was built by mcleod family of Deng Weigen and Harris around 1500. The nave is 20 meters long and 5 meters wide, which leads directly to the choir, but these may be separated by wooden structures. In the North Second Hall, four tomb boards are displayed against the wall. In order to protect them, these were removed from their original positions on the choir floor.

The fifth tombstone comes from a Kebir near the tower. The main attraction of the church is three tombs carved with black gneiss, depicting knights in armor. The square tower of the church is a unique architectural feature in these areas. It is 20 meters higher than the floor of the nave in the church. It is built on a rock, which is higher than other parts of the church.

This will soon become obvious when you climb the dark stairs and see the door of the first room leading to the outside. Continue along the dark stairs of the tower to the second room, the wooden ladder to the third room, and the other ladder to the top. When you enter the cemetery, look at this door from the outside.

It was carved by a bishop (perhaps Sanclemente himself) supported by a bull's head. The panels on the left and right display various graphics. One of them is the earliest known images of kilts and tartan men. The cemetery contains several "cabeil" (private cemeteries). Many of them are for famous local families.

The light brown Louis Castle is an imitation of Tudor architecture, which was built by Sir James Ma· Sisson in19th century. He bought the island on 1844 with part of the wealth accumulated in the opium trade in the Far East. The surrounding trees and green plants were planted by thousands of tons of soil he brought from the mainland.

1924, just a few years after purchasing Lewis, Lord Leverhulme presented the building to the people of Stornoway. During World War II, this castle was used as a naval hospital. Later, it became a technical college, but 1987 was vacant. The castle has been renovated, adding luxury accommodation, cafes and gift shops.

Traveling north along the coast from Stonov to Torsta is well worth a visit. After passing Griais Mill (18th century), continue to drive along B895 and cross various beaches until you reach the end of the road with parking lot.

Here, you will find several great beaches and beautiful cliff scenery. There is a signpost trail (10 mile/16 km) from Torsta all the way across the moor to Ness. It's worth a short walk to see the "Unknown Bridge".

Carani Shishi Circle has a history of more than 4,000 years, and Carani Shi ranks second in importance, second only to Stonehenge, which is even older.

On a headland overlooking a huge ocean and lake, 53 light gray Lewis gneiss stand in a strange cross shape. The heart is a central circle composed of 13 tall stones. In the excavation of 19 century, a tomb with human remains was found. From there, the limbs coincide with the base point of the compass.

Pointing to the north are two parallel rows of stones, forming an avenue with unknown meaning. They stood on a hill called "Cnoc Antursa"-"Mound of Sorrow". Carani is now commonly known as the name of Gaelic-Kalanai.

Wilderness, bays and beaches gradually disappeared into the clouds, and swamps covered the island. When you hold your breath here, you can really feel the infinite charm of this island called the end of the world!
