In 2003, when the power supply project in Yuhui Island was completed, a number of livelihood projects such as digging wells, building roads and building primary school teachers' dormitories were also completed. The village appearance of Yuhui Island is completely new, and people live a leisurely and prosperous life on the isolated island. Electricity is used to realize the same price in urban and rural areas, and the power supply is uninterrupted for 24 hours. Every household has running water and is connected to a program-controlled telephone, and can enjoy surfing the Internet. The per capita annual income of villagers reached 10500 yuan. In 2008, the island's electricity consumption reached 750,000 kWh, and a small shipyard was built.
