Analyze the distribution characteristics and reasons of Brazil's population. &...

Brazilian cities and population are mainly distributed along the southeastern coast.

Reason: The climate in the southeast is suitable; the terrain is flat; European colonists were the first to arrive and have a long history; maritime transportation is convenient; industry and commerce are developed.

Brazil’s population distribution varies greatly from region to region. There are very few people in the north, central and west.

90% of the people live in the southeastern coastal zone. The southeastern part of the country is particularly densely populated, and large cities are also concentrated in this area. This area has convenient sea transportation. European colonists and the black people they trafficked from Africa first arrived in this area and planted sugar cane, coffee and mined ores. Moreover, they lived together and married, and the population increased greatly. Other places were forest wastelands with only a few Indians scattered around, and many places were still uninhabited areas.

Brazil’s terrain is mainly divided into two parts. One part is the Brazilian Plateau with an altitude of more than 500 meters, which is distributed in the south of Brazil. The other part is the plains with an altitude of less than 200 meters, mainly distributed in the Amazon River in the north. Basin and west, the Amazon plain is the largest plain in the world. Most areas have a tropical climate, and parts of the south have a subtropical climate. The average annual temperature in the Amazon plain is 25 to 28 degrees, and the average annual temperature in the southern region is 16 to 19 degrees.

Due to the temperature, Brazil's population is mainly distributed on the Brazilian plateau rather than in the plains
