Three Ancient Wave Wars of Hong Jiu Army in the Battle of Gulangxia

The Red 9 Army is a main force of the Fourth Army. As early as in the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet area, he repeatedly made meritorious military service and won awards from the headquarters. Did the 9 th Army lose many people by crossing the snowy mountain grassland? Then attack Min County, cross the Yellow River, fight a mountain, fight continuously, have no time to rest, and guns, ammunition and personnel supplies are not replenished. In this case, the officers and men are still fighting with high morale and tenacity.

Now, please follow me to the place where the 9 th Army fought and learn about the three thrilling battles that the 9 th Army fought in Gulang:

1, ganchaiwa breakout battle

165438+1October 9th, the 9th Army broke through the enemy lines of Ma Biao and Dayugou Mayuanhai through Gangou Luanquan Terrace and reached Ganchaiwa. After the battle, Ma Fucang (nicknamed Zabid), 5th Division of Defending Cavalry 1 2nd Brigade, retreated and fled to Jiusigou and Xicha. The Red Army occupied Ganchaiwa (now Gancheng Village).

Ganchaiwa is surrounded by high mountains and low in the middle, which is easy to attack and difficult to defend militarily. According to the topographical features here, the 9 th Army Command built fortifications at the commanding heights of Niangniang Miaoling in the east of the village, Gu Liang and Zitan in the north of the ancient city, and arranged defense lines to block the enemy. On that day, Ma Yuanhai, the commander-in-chief of the enemy's front line, led more than 10,000 people from Ma Biao Cavalry 1 Brigade, Ma Yuanhai's 2nd Brigade, 5th Cavalry Division 1 Brigade Ma Lu Department, 2nd Brigade Han Qilu Department, 100 Division 300 Brigade 600 Regiment, Huzhu, Ledu and other county militia groups to attack the Red 9 in Shanchengwa and other places on the east side of Ganchaiwa. In Niangniang Miaoling and other places, the 9 th Army constantly organized firepower and persisted in counterattack. Ma Yuanhai ordered the troops and militia to fight hard and attack repeatedly, causing many casualties. In the evening, the dry wood was still unable to attack, so Ma Yuanhai had to withdraw his troops to Dayugou.

On June 1 1 day, the enemy assembled all their forces and joined forces. With the help of several fighters sent by the Kuomintang, they attacked the Red Army in Ganchaiwa from three sides: Nanzhigou, Dongshan Chengwa and Xibaituxian. Relying on Mazhuang, the enemy was arrogant and arrogant, and fought hard again and again. The Red Army made use of the topography, seized the favorable fighter planes, attacked continuously and annihilated the enemy again and again. The two sides fought each other, and the fighting was extremely fierce, forming a tug-of-war. Until noon, the position of the Red Army remained untouched. At 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the enemy launched an all-out attack, using cavalry to detour and attack in three ways in an attempt to panic in the Red Army in Ganchaiwa. At the same time, several fighter planes of the Kuomintang bombarded our Red Army positions indiscriminately to cover the enemy's attack. The Red Army organized all kinds of weapons to fight back strongly and launched hand-to-hand combat with the enemy several times. Niangniang Miaoling position was once out of control, and the defenders were driven back to the village by the enemy. The enemy occupied the Niangniang Temple and continued to sneak into the village, directly pressing the military department. The situation is very serious. At this point, the commander Sun Yuqing and the political commissar Chen Haisong led all the staff of the headquarters to fight with the traffic team and pressed the enemy back. At this critical juncture, Comrade Liu Peiji (an intellectual from Gansu Province), the head of the Army 1 regiment, led the officers and men in heroic resistance, launched a desperate struggle with the enemy, and repelled the enemy's three attacks in succession. During the third charge, Comrade Liu Peiji was shot in the head and died heroically. At this critical juncture, the 25th Division detoured behind enemy lines, retaken the commanding heights of Niangniang Miaoling and charged the enemy. The enemy lines were suddenly in chaos, and they abandoned their horses and fled. The Red Army won more than 40 horses and rode back. As soon as the enemy saw it, he retreated without even cleaning up the body. This is the solution of the military department. In the fierce battle, Zhang, director of the Military Medical Division of the 2nd Brigade of the 5th Division of the enemy cavalry, was wounded by the Red Army. Miao Yuqing, deputy commander of garrison headquarters cavalry 1 brigade headquarters in the southern border region of Qinghai, was killed. Ma Junmin killed or injured 100 people, and the whole enemy line collapsed. Ma Yuanhai saw something bad and ordered the troops to fight and retreat. The fighting continued into the evening and gradually subsided.

In the battle, the Red Army suffered more than 200 casualties. That night, the 9th Army took the 27th Division as the guard, stopped the pursuers, covered the main force to evacuate Ganchaiwa and headed for Lianghengshan. Due to the hasty evacuation, some seriously injured people were temporarily unable to move with the troops and hid in the local people's homes. After the enemy entered the village for the second time, they were all killed. The "Breakthrough War" in Ganchaiwa was the first setback since the Red Army crossed the river.
