What does Suriname mean?

The name of the country, located in the northern part of South America, facing the Atlantic Ocean to the north. It was originally the name of a large Indian tribe, which was the first tribe conquered by Spain in the area. The Spaniards named this colony after this tribe. After that, it became a colony of Britain and the Netherlands. It declared independence on November 25, 1975 and established the Republic of Korea.
