What are the entry customs procedures for traveling to Britain?

Pre-takeoff

Before boarding the plane, please take the following documents and articles with you so that you can show them to the customs (British Border Control Agency) staff:

A valid passport with an entry visa (that is, an entry permit valid for 30 days affixed to the passport)

Be sure to keep your boarding pass, which has luggage consignment information (it may also be checked by the immigration department after disembarking).

You'd better hang a luggage tag or tag with your name and other information on it.

Admission notice issued by CAS and the school

Letter or card of BRP (old students only)

Tuberculosis test certificate

Guardianship certificate and details of the host family (if it is a day student)

A pen (for filling out the immigration card)

In flight

On the plane to Britain, the flight attendants will issue a blue card with the landing card of the British Border Agency written on it. This is the British entry card.

All citizens from countries outside the European Economic Area need to fill in the entry card before entering the UK. This entry card is used for customs clearance. This card will be issued when the plane is about to land. It doesn't matter if it's wrong. When we disembark from the "non-EU" corridor behind the plane, we can still see the special place to fill in the entry card. We can fill in another one. When you enter the customs, just give the completed card and passport to the customs officer.

When Xiao E first came to England, he looked scared when he saw this card. He doesn't know how to fill it out, and he's afraid of making a mistake. The picture below shows what the immigration card looks like, and then E teaches you how to fill out the immigration card from top to bottom.

First of all, note that all the information filled in should be capitalized in English!

The first line: Last name. Take "Zhang San" as an example, this line needs to be filled out. (exactly the same as passport)

The second line: name. Take "Zhang San" as an example, this bank has to fill in three. (Must be exactly the same as the passport)

The third line: gender. Just tick the corresponding box.

Date of birth. Fill in the numbers in chronological order. If you were born in September 1996, please fill in 0 1/09/ 1996.

The fourth line: the town and country of birth. Write Chinese Pinyin or corresponding English names, such as Beijing and Hongkong, and fill in China for the country.

The fifth line: nationality. Fill in China.

Occupation: student, self-employed, teacher, manager, etc.

Line 6: Contact address in the UK. You can fill in the complete and detailed address of your dormitory, hotel or relatives. Generally, it is filled in the order of room number, hotel address name, street name, city or town name and postal code. For example: Room 20 1 London Hotel, No.22 Old queen street, London, SW 1H9HP. (The address is suggested to be ready before boarding. You can find the address on the school's offer, hotel reservation form and business invitation letter, and save it in your mobile phone or write it down in your notebook according to the above format. )

Line 7: Passport number and passport issuing place. The passport number is in the red number in the upper right corner of the first page of the passport. These two requirements are exactly the same as those in the passport. Write them down.

Line 8: Length of stay in the UK. You can write down the time you plan to stay in Britain, such as one month, one year; ; Or you can write the date of your visa expiration directly here. For example, your visa expires on September 20th17, which can be written as 01/09/20 17. This date is on the visa.

Line 9: the last departure place. You can write your departure airport, such as Beijing airport; ; If it is a connecting flight, write down the connecting airport, such as dubai international airport.

Line 10: the number of the flight/train/ship arriving in the UK. If you enter the country by plane, just write down the flight number of your plane and you will find it on the ticket. If you enter the country by train or boat, you can find the number on the ticket and boat ticket.

Line 1 1: signature. Consistent with the signature on the passport signature page.

After landing

After landing, the first thing to do when entering the terminal is to connect to the airport free wireless network, and contact parents and monitoring teachers who are anxiously waiting for your arrival to report safety.

Just fill in your name, email address and flight number, and you can use the airport wireless network for free.

Then following the "Arrival" sign will lead people to the passport control office, also known as the British border.

Please pay attention to the electronic screen when you arrive at the passport control office (British Border Agency). This will tell you which area you need to pass. Make sure you line up in the right area to avoid wasting too much time.

All passengers have to go through the counter of the British Border Agency to process their flight information.

Note: There will be an area for tourists from Britain and EU countries, or Swiss countries to get tourist visas. The rest may be one or more windows for passengers with passports from other countries.

What the British Border Agency wants to see is:

Passport within the validity period

:: Documents in the prescribed format

Landing card received on the plane.

Valid visa (old student: BRP biological information card/new student: entry permit valid for only 30 days affixed to passport)

Again, these materials should be prepared before boarding, and then take them with you, but don't put them in the checked baggage!

After reviewing the above materials, the British Border Agency may ask students some questions (please see the list of frequently asked questions below):

? Why did you come to England? Why did you come to England?

? What are you doing in England? What are you doing in England?

? What are you studying in England? What are you studying?

? Where do you study? Where do you study?

? Who will meet you at the airport? Who will meet you at the airport?

? How long will you stay in England? How long will you stay in England?

Students can prepare in advance how to answer the above questions. If you don't know the answer, you can ask your tutor. If you didn't hear the question clearly, you can ask it again: I'm sorry, could you say it again?

If the staff of the British Border Agency want the English of immigrants to meet the requirements, they don't need an interpreter. At the same time, the staff of the British Border Agency requires students to meet the requirements of the Immigration Bureau: students should return to China after their studies. If the customs asks you what to do after school (what are you going to do after school? ), the students said to return to China.

The British Border Agency requires health control: lucky students may be required to undergo a short routine medical examination at the airport. The examination contents usually include: X-ray examination. The inspection will be carried out in a separate room. After the inspection, it will return to the British Border Agency. This is just a spot check, so students should not be nervous.

When you have passed the immigration inspection, please follow the sign of the baggage claim area and enter the baggage claim area, where you will get your checked baggage back. There is a display screen above each baggage carousel. Find the conveyor belt showing your flight number, and you will find your luggage here.

If your luggage doesn't appear, please find the service desk of your flight company and fill in the "Lost Baggage Form". After the airport recalls your lost luggage, send it to your address (boarders fill in the school address, and day students fill in the host family address). So be sure to fill in the address correctly and leave your phone number. If you can't talk by phone in Britain, leave your tutor's phone number.

At British airports, there are usually three passenger exits-

Green is from a non-EU country, so he has nothing to declare.

Red is from a non-EU country. I have something to declare.

Blue is from EU countries, and the luggage has been checked by customs.

The notice from the customs department will tell you which items need to be declared. When you enter the UK, if you have any questions, please ask the customs officer before entering the customs.

Even if you go through the green channel of the customs, sometimes the customs officers will ask you to open your suitcase for inspection. If it is a spot check and found controlled items, students can only obediently hand over these controlled items to the customs.

When you go through the customs, it means that you have completed all the formalities and officially arrived in Britain.
