Tookou Hydropower Station consists of a main dam, auxiliary dam, power plant building, water diversion system, navigation building and river bend anti-seepage project. It is a dam and plant separated power station. The main dam is located in Qingshuiqing Village, Yuanhe Town, and the auxiliary dam and power plant are located in Wangjia'ao Village, Tuokou Town. The normal water storage level of the reservoir is 250 meters, the storage capacity is 1.249 billion m3, the water surface in front of the dam is 15 square kilometers, and the total water area is 48.86 square kilometers. The reservoir flooded 4 counties and cities in Hunan and Guizhou provinces, 11 towns, 55 villages, 10,100 households, and 38,988 people, submerged 52,000 acres of land, and demolished 1.52 million square meters of houses. Among them, our city was the main flooded area, involving two The town has 17 villages, 2 neighborhood committees, 122 groups, and 6,563 households. It needs to resettle 22,000 immigrants, demolish 1.05 million square meters of houses, and requisition 29,900 acres of land, including 12,699 acres of paddy fields.

The Tuokou Power Station project was officially launched in 2003. The physical quantity survey was completed in 2004. The auxiliary dam construction started in March 2005. The project approval was completed in April 2008. The land use approval was completed and construction resumed in April 2009.
