How to apply for residence permit in Chengdu

The items of residence registration include: name, gender, date of birth, citizenship number, social insurance number, photo of myself, domicile, detailed address of current residence, reasons for temporary residence, service place, occupation, marital status, marriage and childbirth certificate and the situation of carrying minors. If the floating population changes its residential address, it shall, within seven days from the date of change, declare the change of residential registration in accordance with the procedures specified in the first paragraph of this article.

Article 9 If the floating population arrives at the place of residence and intends to live for more than 1 month, it shall apply for the Temporary Residence Permit of Chengdu at the accepting institution.

Article 10 If the floating population who intends to live for more than 1 year meets one of the following conditions, they may apply by themselves and issue the Chengdu Residence Permit after being examined by the accepting institution to which the detailed residence belongs: (1) Persons who have signed a labor contract with the employing unit and have continuously paid social insurance premiums in the labor and social security department of their place of residence for more than 6 months; (2) Persons who have obtained business licenses in the administrative department for industry and commerce; (3) Persons who have purchased houses in the housing management department or registered for renting houses, and have continuously paid social insurance premiums in the labor and social security department of their place of residence for more than six months; (four) personnel who meet the conditions of Chengdu, but have not moved into the household registration; (5) Minor children of Chengdu residence permit holders.
