Can I become a Qatari citizen by studying in Qatar?

You can't become a Qatari citizen when you study abroad. Qatar stipulates that you can apply for Qatari nationality under the following circumstances:

1. Foreign women who are partners with Qatari men can apply for Qatari citizenship through marriage; Foreign men and Qatari women do not enjoy the same treatment when they get married; Children born of foreign men married to Qatari women can get Qatar green card (permanent residency) and enjoy Qatar welfare policy;

2. athletes. Qatar attaches great importance to sports, implements a naturalization policy for athletes, and opens up naturalization for those who have outstanding expertise in sports such as football, basketball and baseball;

3. Other foreigners who have made outstanding contributions to Qatar.
