Smoking and the Past Life of Lung Cancer

My name is lung cancer, and my English name is lung cancer. I am a member of the cancer family. I have many brothers and sisters, such as liver cancer, kidney cancer, stomach cancer, bladder cancer and so on. I am busy and lonely. Liveliness lies in appearing more and more widely around people, and loneliness lies in that almost no one welcomes me, because I will only bring them endless physical and mental torture until I die. They call me terminally ill, and I don't like such a desperate name.

Different from the public talking about the discoloration of cancer, my idol Mr. Feng Tang once described me in a literary way, "That is love, that is cancer, that is Tathagata." Compared with love and Tathagata, this is the highest praise for me.

From the description, I can be roughly divided into two categories. I was born and raised in the lung, and I have a local account in the lung, which is called primary lung cancer. Black households who immigrated from other organs are called secondary lung cancer. Just like instant noodles taste like braised beef, sauerkraut and seafood, I have different types according to pathological types, such as lung squamous cell carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma and so on.

Generally, my arrival will remind people, such as cough, expectoration, chest pain, fever and so on. However, many people don't pay attention to it, so they first saw me on the video data, that is, at the end of their lives, that is, the advanced stage of cancer in folk parlance. I'm big and small, and I'm not beautiful, but I usually grow very fast, and I like to travel around, sometimes I travel to the pleural cavity for a short time, and sometimes I travel to the liver, brain and stomach for a long time.

Then what brought me into the human body? I have many good friends, such as aging, heredity, smog, ionizing radiation and so on. They may all bring me to people. My best friend is a smoker. Even the government has called on people to ban smoking in public places. Many people, especially those with severe cigarette dependence, question the intimacy between smokers and me and refuse to quit smoking, saying, "So-and-so has smoked all his life, but why didn't he get lung cancer?"

Faced with these questions, I just want to answer simply and rudely: "Many people cross the road without looking at the car and are not hit by the car. Can we say that it is useless not to look at the car on the road? "

So, please listen to me and a previous life, a smoker. Human research has long found that there are thousands of substances in tobacco that may be harmful to health, such as nicotine and tar. Smoking is a carcinogenic effect caused by inhaling some strong carcinogens and directly stimulating respiratory cells.

Smoking will greatly increase the possibility of my appearance, but this possibility is not 100%. Therefore, there are naturally heavy smokers who don't come to see me, but they are more common in patients with severe lung cancer in the middle and late stages, mostly men, and 80% to 85% of them are closely related to smokers.

According to the professional statement, the possibility of my appearance is related to the time and quantity of smoking, but overall, smoking time plays a greater role [1]. For example, the risk of lung cancer with one pack of cigarettes a day lasting for 40 years is higher than that with two packs of cigarettes a day lasting for 20 years [2-4]. In terms of smoking risk, compared with never smokers, the risk of male smokers who smoke 15-25 cigarettes a day is about 26 times that of never smokers [5].

Some people think that as long as I stay away from smoking, I won't appear. Some people think I will show up instead of smoking. Both views are wrong.

First of all, the impact of smoking on the lungs is not that smoke pollutes the lungs, but that long-term smoking causes airway fibrosis and structural remodeling. Generally speaking, this kind of injury is not like dirty clothes, it will be clean after washing. And just like the scar on your knee when you fall, it won't disappear after a long time. Therefore, the harm of smoking to the lungs is irreversible. If you want to reverse the harm caused by smoking, you can only be reborn. But there is no time to quit smoking.

Again, you will get lung cancer after quitting smoking. I can only say that I quit too late. Many types of lung cancer caused by smoking have no obvious symptoms in the early stage. Once symptoms appear, they are mostly in the middle and late stages.

What are my chances of showing up? Look at the smoking index. When measuring the smoking amount of smokers in medicine, the number of smokers per day is generally multiplied by the number of years of smoking, which is called "smoking index". For example, if you smoke for 20 years, the smoking index of one pack (20 cigarettes) a day is 20×20=400. Smokers with a "smoking index" greater than 400 are classified as high-risk groups, which means I will probably come. It is best to check your lungs once a year.
