Why is there civil strife in Ukraine?

Ukraine and Russia, as well as border guards from the Middle East, Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, exchanged fire in the border areas between the two countries.

On February 24th, 2022, local time, the Ukrainian State Border Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that Russian military equipment, including armored vehicles, had crossed the border and entered chernigov, Samui, Lugansk and Kharkov.

Since February 17, 2022, the situation in eastern Ukraine has deteriorated, and the Ukrainian government and local civilian armed forces have accused each other of launching provocative shelling on the contact line. On February 18, civilian armed forces in eastern Ukraine announced that they would evacuate local residents to Russia on a large scale from now on because of the danger of launching military operations in Ukraine. On the evening of February 2 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order recognizing the "Donetsk People's Republic" and the "Lugansk People's Republic" in eastern Ukraine.
