Chanzhi Lake is the largest artificial lake in Jiaodong Peninsula, formerly known as Chanzhi Reservoir. It is a water storage project built by local people in 1950s, with the purpose of turning flood into water conservancy. After years of perennial repair, continuous construction and comprehensive development, it has become a scenic spot integrating irrigation, water supply, aquaculture, tourism and ecological sightseeing. Lake Chanzhi was intercepted by the runoff of Dagu River. Dagu River, the mother river of Jiaodong, originates from the high mountain canyon in Zhaolai (far) (west) area, with a catchment area of 889 square kilometers, and flows into the Yellow Sea through Zhaolai (far) (west) and Pingdu () Jiaozhou Bay. For many years, the surging river has nourished human beings and endangered society. According to historical records, since 1638, floods caused by river flooding have occurred once every ten years on average. During the flood season of 1953, heavy rains continued. On August 4th, the precipitation was 162.4 mm, and the main flow of Dagu River was as high as 4,000 cubic meters. Flooding, farmland destroyed, 178 villages flooded, more than 30,000 houses collapsed, 64 people died, 38 people were missing, more than 500,000 mu of farmland was affected, and more than 70,000 mu of farmland was abandoned.

In order to eradicate the flood and turn harm into benefit, Laiyang County People's Government (Laiyang and Laixi are one county), after full investigation and study by 1958, exploration, demonstration and planning and design by relevant provincial and district units, decided to build a dam between Xiaozhi Mountain in Chanzhi Village and Beiling in Shaocun Village, so as to store floods and relocate dozens of villages to build reservoirs. In June of that year, the project was fully launched. Because there was no advanced technology and digging machinery at that time, we all relied on shoveling, planing poles, shouldering, pushing wooden carts and lifting soil baskets. There are a sea of people on the construction site every day, and efforts are made day and night. At most, more than 36,000 people go into battle. By September, the dam, east and west spillway tunnels and normal spillway works have been completed 1959, with a total of 39 19700 labor, 372 million cubic meters of earth and stone, 483/kloc-0 households in 38 villages, 20,469 immigrants, and the resettlement elevation of the reservoir area is 74 1. The reinforcement project of Chanzhi Reservoir passed the evaluation of Huai Committee in April 2005, and was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Water Resources in 10. The main contents include main dam reinforcement, auxiliary dam reinforcement, spillway reconstruction and expansion, east spillway tunnel reconstruction, middle spillway tunnel plugging, west spillway tunnel construction, tailrace and flood control road improvement, management and auxiliary production houses, video monitoring system and other projects. The project started in April 2006 and was completed in February 2008, which lasted for three years. The completed works amount is 6.5438+235 million cubic meters of earthwork, 95,000 cubic meters of masonry, 42,000 cubic meters of concrete and 6.5438+06 million linear meters of grouting works, with a total investment of 65.438+370 million yuan.

This project will be completed in three years. In 2006, dam grouting, auxiliary dam reinforcement, new west spillway tunnel and tailrace regulation project were implemented; In 2007, spillway was rebuilt and expanded, gates and hoists were manufactured and installed, east spillway tunnel was rebuilt, and electrical equipment was installed. In 2008, other projects were implemented, such as main dam reinforcement, middle spillway tunnel plugging, flood control roads, management and auxiliary production houses. The project supervision is determined through public bidding, supervised by the Water Conservancy and Hydropower Project Construction Supervision Center of Huaiwei Committee of the Ministry of Water Resources, and the construction team is selected through national public bidding.

After the project was completed in February, 2008, the design flood standard is 100, and the check flood standard is 5,000, which can protect the life and property of 4.99 million mu of cultivated land and 96 100 people in Laixi and Dagu River downstream, and protect the downstream Tongsan Expressway, weilai expressway Expressway, Yin Qing Expressway and Qing Ji Expressway.

The development and construction of Laixi Lake has greatly promoted the development of tourism in Laixi City and brought great economic and social benefits to the whole city. At the same time, it is convenient for the people in the villages in the reservoir area, and lays a good foundation for the people in the villages in the reservoir area to engage in the tertiary industry, increase their income, and get rid of poverty and become rich.

Invest 40 million yuan to build 10 roads around the lake and scenic spots, with a total area of 250,000 meters. The high-standard asphalt road directly connects Chanzhi Reservoir with National Highway 204, which greatly improves the accessibility of the scenic spot.
