The History and Culture of Zhutuo Town

According to official records, the history of Zhu Tuo has been nearly 1400 years.

According to the Records of Yuanhe County, in the third year of Wude in the Tang Dynasty (AD 620), Jiangjin County was placed under Wanchun County, and the county seat was the site of Dongcheng in the present Han Dynasty. Wude five years, renamed Wanshou County.

With the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty, Wanshou County withdrew from Wanshou County in the first year of Yuanfeng in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 1078) and returned to Jiangjin County. The former county government and its surrounding areas became a township in Jiangjin County-Handong Town.

In the Ming Dynasty, Dongxiang in the Han Dynasty was renamed "Sishan Township" (it was renamed Sishan Township in the early Qing Dynasty).

During the reign of Emperor Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, Huguang was filled in Sichuan, immigrants were naturalized, and their thoughts were good. Due to the large number of immigrants named Zhu, there are five Zhu ancestral temples near the town, and because the river flows back and forth in the residence (now Laojie to Village), there is a deep backwater of the Yangtze River, which began to be called Zhujiatuo for short.

Handongcheng Site, located in Handong Village, Zhutuo Town, Yongchuan District, Chongqing, is located in the second terrace on the west bank of the Yangtze River. The site covers an area of about 400,000 square meters, with a well-preserved area of 64,500 square meters and a core area of about 20,000 square meters.

In the second national cultural relics survey started at 198 1, the site of Han Dong Town was found in Handong Village. The former People's Government of Yongchuan County, Chongqing determined that Zhutuo Handong Guyi Site was a county-level cultural relics protection unit.

201310 —— 201510, Chongqing Institute of Cultural Heritage carried out (the first stage) rescue archaeological excavation on Handongcheng site, and found various relics such as city walls, houses, tombs, ash pits, ditches, roads and pottery kilns/kloc.

The cultural relics unearthed from the site cover the Neolithic Age, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, Han Dynasty, Tang Dynasty, Song and Yuan Dynasties, Ming and Qing Dynasties, etc. Experts identified it as a "general historical ancient city site".

The sites on the east side of the Han Dynasty are rich in types, well-preserved and have good continuity of the times, which further highlights its core position in the historical region. Dongcheng Site in Han Dynasty is an important archaeological discovery in Chongqing, which is of great value for studying the history of human production and life and urban construction in western Chongqing and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

Future Planning-Adjusting the existing planning of Zhutuogangqiao New Town will build the first district-level heritage park in China. According to the plan, a ruins park will be built in the core area of 20,000 square meters of the Eastern Han Dynasty ruins. Some buildings and urban patterns of the Tang and Song Dynasties will be restored in the park, and unearthed cultural relics will be displayed. Zhu Tuo Martyrs Cemetery (Martyrs' Tomb) is located in Wang Ping (place name) of Handong Village (formerly Tianhe No.5 Society of Handong Village) in Zhu Tuo, with a construction area of 3,500 square meters, and is a patriotic education base in Yongchuan District of Chongqing.

Bandits are making trouble at 1950. From 9: 00 a.m. to 2: 00 p.m./kloc-0: 00 p.m., bandits do evil everywhere. In order to protect the lives and property of Zhu Tuo people, the People's Army finally eradicated them after fighting. Eight comrades were killed in this bandit riot.

There is a hexagonal monument in the martyrs' cemetery, and the front is engraved with "the revolutionary martyrs are immortal". Behind the monument are buried 19 martyrs who died in previous battles against bandits in the early days of liberation.
