You must first obtain an entry visa from China Travel Agency in Hongkong.

Those who have been to Taiwan Province or were born in Hong Kong and Macao and whose passports are still valid for more than 6 months can apply for visas directly on the website of the Immigration Department of Taiwan Province Province. After permission, please take the "electronic receipt number", "passport with a validity of more than six months" and "ID card" to Hong Kong China Travel Agency, China Travel Agency International Airport Office or Macau Taipei Economic and Cultural Center to receive the Notice of Temporary Entry Stay.

The Notice of Temporary Entry and Stay is valid for three months, and you can enter and leave the country twice for 30 days each time. If you enter or leave the country twice within the validity period, you can apply again within three months.

You can't fly from Shanghai to Taiwan Province Province without permission to enter Taiwan Province.

People who were born in Chinese mainland or have lived in Hong Kong for less than four years must apply for a visa at China Travel Agency in Hong Kong.
