Why choose American immigrants?

Why choose American immigrants?

1. quality education

Many people immigrate to the United States because of the high level of education in the United States, especially those parents in China who attach great importance to their children's education. According to the data of the US Immigration Bureau, the number of China students studying in the United States has reached 350,755, accounting for about one third of the students studying in the United States. In addition, China has been the source country of American overseas students for eight consecutive years. Last year, the number of international students studying in the United States even reached 6.5438+0.09 million. Such a huge number is really amazing.

2. Strong economic strength

Development is another reason why many people immigrate to the United States, mainly attracted by the strong economic strength of the United States. Under the domestic environment and policies, some people's career development is blocked, so emigrating to the United States has become a good export.

3. Better social security system

The United States has also done a good job in social welfare, from newborn welfare, free public education and free public medical care to unemployment relief, retirement benefits, old-age medical insurance, housing subsidies, government subsidies and so on. Ordinary people in the United States have a sense of peace of mind and security, because the American government has taken into account the birth, illness, death and illness of ordinary people.

4. Values of equality and freedom

The living environment in the United States is relatively free, so people's values will be more diversified. One of the values cherished by Americans is equality. They firmly believe that "all men are created equal" and will not overemphasize a person's skin color, education and economic status. Freedom also plays an important role in their values. They think that everyone's legal behavior is unrestricted.

5. A sound legal system

The American legal system is another important aspect worthy of praise. Opinion polls in the United States show that the vast majority of Americans trust the federal court and believe that the Chief Justice will handle all kinds of cases fairly. The federal court is also a trustworthy government agency in the United States. "Everyone is equal before the law" is one of the American creeds.

6. A strong passport

Many American immigrants initially only hold green cards, so they can travel freely between China and the United States. A few years later, many people naturally acquired American citizenship. One of the important reasons is that American passports enjoy international courtesy and can travel to 160 countries without a visa.

Whether it is business, trade, economy, education, social system or pension system, the United States is desirable. However, in order to better realize their values and ideals in this equal and prosperous land, the people of China continue to immigrate to the United States.

Second, American immigrants' skills in maintaining green cards

Many people think that American citizenship is within reach after getting an American green card. Actually, it is not. While enjoying the rights granted by the permanent resident status of the United States, we must also fulfill the obligations due to this status. Only in this way can you maintain your green card and apply for naturalization as an American citizen under certain conditions.

1, continue to live in America.

Although there is no "immigration supervisor" in the United States, having a green card does not mean that the United States can let you come and go freely. Many green card holders have a misunderstanding that they can rest easy if they leave the United States for no more than 180 days at a time. Although the US immigration law does not specify how many days a permanent resident must live in the United States each year, our experience shows that if you return to the United States for a long time, the Immigration Border Inspection Office (CBP) can still determine that you have no intention to settle in the United States and confiscate your green card.

Important note: It is not enough to abide by the rule of 180 days, and the residence time in the United States should be longer than that. When you delay your return to the United States for some reason, please be sure to prepare instructions and relevant certificates. If green card holders need to leave the United States for more than 12 months for special reasons, they should apply for a "re-entry permit" in advance before leaving the United States. Conditional permanent residents need to apply for removal of conditions to become official permanent residents within two years after obtaining a conditional green card, so it is not recommended to apply for re-entry permit.

2. Timely tax returns

As a "permanent resident of the United States", it is a very important obligation to declare personal income tax to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) every fiscal year. According to the different regulations of each state, you should also report to the tax department of your state, city or residence.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service has the right to decide to give up your permanent resident status in the following two cases:

1) You did not declare personal income tax in the fiscal year when you lived outside the United States;

2) You failed to truthfully fill in the applicant's immigration status in the tax return.

Important: Before getting the green card, you can ask an experienced CPA or lawyer to do tax and property planning. Every fiscal year, in accordance with the provisions of the federal government, consult accountants in time and do a good job in the declaration and payment of personal income tax.

Step 3 obey the law

Permanent residents should avoid violating laws or criminal laws. Especially when the criminal law is violated, it may lead to serious consequences in immigration law, such as deportation, prohibition of re-entry, loss of permanent resident status, and loss of eligibility to apply for American citizenship. Crimes that may affect permanent resident status include crimes defined as vicious felonies (usually imprisonment for one year or more) and crimes classified as moral corruption. Special attention should be paid to domestic violence, including fighting between husband and wife or between male and female friends, which may also lead to deportation.

Important note: At the same time as hiring a criminal lawyer, you should also hire an immigration lawyer. Criminal lawyers specialize in criminal defense, but the result in the eyes of criminal lawyers may not be the result of immigration law. At the same time, hire an immigration lawyer to study the most favorable defense strategy for immigration status to ensure that the final result will not affect your immigration status.

4. Apply to the Immigration Bureau for address change in time.

Every time a green card holder changes his address, he needs to fill out an AR- 1 1 address change card and declare your new address to the Immigration Bureau.

Important: the declaration must be completed within 10 days after the address change, and can be made through the internet or telephone.

5. Conditional permanent residents submit their applications on time.

A green card obtained by investing in immigration or marrying an American citizen or permanent resident is a conditional green card. Conditional permanent residents have the same rights and obligations as formal permanent residents, but they need to apply for cancellation of conditions before the expiration of the conditional green card to become formal permanent residents.

Important note: Conditional permanent residents should submit an application for cancellation of conditions within 90 days before the expiration of the conditional green card.

6. School-age men need to register with the Military Service Bureau.

If the green card holder is a male, aged between 18-26, he is obliged to register with the military service registration Bureau and inform the government that you can join the US Army. At present, the United States does not implement the "conscription system", and military service is not strong unless permanent residents or citizens themselves volunteer.

Important: Male green card holders who meet the age requirements can register at the post office or online.

Article 3 Advantages of American immigrants

1. Residence right and travel convenience

With an American green card, you get permanent residency in the United States and can freely enter and leave the United States without going to the embassy to apply for a visa. Permanent residents of the United States can live in any of the 50 States of the United States and travel to many countries without a visa.

With a US passport, you can get visa-free access to about 186 countries and regions in landing visa. With the American green card, more than 100 countries and regions have implemented visa-free and landing visa.

2. Education for children

Admission rate: In the United States, 80% of the admission qualifications are usually allocated to students who are citizens or have permanent residency. This kind of students don't have to compete with the world's top students for admission places when applying, but a separate pool.

There are no restrictions on majors: some ace majors in the United States are not open to international students, while students with permanent residency apply as locals, which not only has a high admission rate, but also gives priority to many ace majors.

Scholarships: Students with permanent residency can apply for a variety of scholarships, with superior examination and approval conditions and a high probability of winning scholarships.

University tuition: The tuition fees paid by students with permanent residency to attend universities (including graduate students and doctoral students) are far lower than those paid by international students. Permanent residents can often save 2/3 of the expenses compared with international students.

Free education in primary and secondary schools: the benefits of becoming a permanent resident are not limited to higher education. Permanent residents can also enjoy free public primary and secondary education.

3. Work and employment

Freedom of employment: green card holders have no restrictions on employment, and can directly choose their favorite occupations like native Americans. Of course, there will be some restrictions. For example, some aerospace companies will require citizenship.

In the United States, international students want to stay only by applying for an H 1B visa. However, it is not easy for international students to find a job. It is even more difficult to find a position and a company is willing to apply for a job in H-1B. There was once a master student who had 72 interviews for H-1B. Because I am an international student, I have hit a wall many times.

Unemployment benefits: When the green card holder has no job, the government will give you a job for free. When you have a normal job, pay taxes for not less than six months (three months in some places), and then lose your job, you can get government relief on a monthly basis by reporting your unemployment to the local authorities in the United States.

The amount of unemployment benefits is usually based on the range of pre-employment salary, usually calculated on the basis of a quarter's salary, ranging from 500 dollars to 2000 dollars.
