Guizhou Town, Qu Yuan's hometown, is known as "the throat of the Three Gorges and the Pearl of Xixia". It is located on the north bank of Xiling Gorge, 33km upstream of the Three Gorges Dam, in the hinterland center of Zigui County, Hubei Province, with a land area of 128 km2, cultivated land area of15203mu and jurisdiction of1administrative department. With superior geographical location and abundant resources, it is a traffic center in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, a business center in the mountainous area of western Hubei and a famous "hometown of navel oranges in China".

Guizhou is a big immigrant town. Guizhou Town was formed by the merger of the original Guizhou Town, Quyuan Town and Xiangxi Town. There are more than 30,000 immigrants in this town, accounting for 43% of the total number of immigrants in the county.

Guizhou is a civilized ancient town with a long history. As early as 300,000 years ago, human beings began to settle here, 3,600 years ago, ancient returnees were born here, and 3 100 years ago, the State of Chu was established here. For thousands of years, Zhong Ling returned to China gracefully, giving birth to the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan and the "messenger of national harmony" Wang Zhaojun, who told the story of the Three Kingdoms filled with smoke and drums, and was famous for its rich cultural connotation.
