At the end of last year, with the implementation of "B and B management" measures by the Health and Health Commission on COVID-19 infection, major changes have taken place in domestic prevention and control policies, entry policies in China and passport renewal. This is definitely good news for visiting scholars, visiting students, postdocs and other people who need to go abroad and return to China. To sum up, there are two points:

1. Now people who go to China only need to do a nucleic acid test within 48 hours before departure. If the result is negative, they do not need to apply for a health code and go back to China directly;

2. After entering the country, it is no longer necessary to accept nucleic acid testing and centralized isolation, and the health declaration is normal and there is no abnormality in quarantine at the customs port, so it can directly return to the society.

The following are the announcements made by the Foreign Affairs Group of the National Health and Health Commission, the joint defense and control mechanism of the State Council, the State Administration of Immigration, the General Administration of Customs and other units.

First, novel coronavirus changed its name to novel coronavirus infection.

2. With the approval of the State Council, since June 8, 2023, the measures for the prevention and control of Class A infectious diseases stipulated in the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases have been lifted. Novel coronavirus infection is no longer included in the management of quarantine infectious diseases stipulated in the Frontier Health and Quarantine Law of People's Republic of China (PRC).
