Why is it so difficult for foreigners to obtain China citizenship?

China is a non-immigrant country, so it is difficult to become a citizen of China.

Foreigners applying for permanent residence in China shall abide by the laws of China, be in good health and have no criminal record, and meet one of the following conditions:

1. Direct investment in China, stable investment for three consecutive years, and good tax record. In the Catalogue of Industries with Foreign Investment promulgated by the state, the total investment in encouraged industries is more than 500,000 US dollars, or more than 500,000 US dollars in western China and key counties for poverty alleviation and development, or more than 6,543,800 US dollars in central China, or more than 2 million US dollars in China.

Two, as deputy general manager, deputy director or above in China, or associate professor, associate researcher and other deputy senior titles and enjoy the same treatment, has served for four years, four years in China accumulated not less than three years and good tax records.

2. Talents who have made significant and outstanding contributions to China and have special needs of the country.

3. Spouses and minor children of persons who have obtained China Green Card.

Four, no immediate family members abroad, take refuge in China's immediate family members, and at least 60 years of age, and have lived in China for five years, staying in China for not less than nine months each year, and have a stable living guarantee and residence.

These are the basic conditions for getting a green card in China. Either you are rich, or you are talented, or you are the spouse or children of a rich person, otherwise you will never get a green card in China.

Since the establishment of the green card system, the China municipal government has issued less than 8,000 green cards, with an average of more than 200 cards per year. You know, the United States issues hundreds of thousands of work green cards every year. In contrast, China's green card is really hard to get.
