Why is the Caribbean all black?

The ancestors of black people in the Caribbean are West Africans. After the opening of the new sea route, European colonists seized Indian land, established plantations in America, and slaughtered and enslaved Indians at will. At the same time, due to the lack of immunity of Indians to smallpox and other severe infectious diseases brought by Europeans, a large number of Indians died of such diseases and high-intensity hard work, resulting in a sharp decline in the number of Indians. The Indians in the Caribbean, where Europeans first arrived, were almost extinct, and European colonists could not find enough labor to plantation there. So plantation owners began to buy strong African blacks and work as slaves on plantations, which opened the way for European slave traders. A large number of slaves entered the Caribbean and other parts of America, which changed the local population composition. Today, the blacks in these places are descendants of slaves.

African Caribbean refers to African-Americans in the West Indies. 15 18 In order to plunder slaves, the Spanish landed in Barbados. They saw trees on the island, and moss like beards hung on every tree, so the Spanish named the island Barbado (bearded).

These robbers took all the Indians on the island and took them to the big plantations in Haiti and other places to fight slaves.

Ten years later, Barbados welcomed the second wave of European robbers: the Portuguese. The Portuguese can see wild fig trees everywhere on the island, so they call it Barbados.

So there are two versions of who bought Barbados.

1625, the third wave of European robbers, the British, occupied Barbados and Barbados became a British colony.

1637, the British colonists saw that the land on the island was fertile, the climate was humid, and they were far away from the monsoon belt and volcanoes, so they introduced sugarcane from Brazil and established sugarcane plantations on the island.

However, the sugarcane industry is a labor-intensive industry, and it is very hard to grow, buy, squeeze and cook, which requires a lot of labor.

At this time, the island was empty, because the Indians on the island were taken away by the Spanish.

In order to solve the labor problem, the notorious British "Royal Africa Company" sold many black slaves from Africa to Barbados and forced them to do heavy slave labor in sugar cane plantations.

Sugarcane, sugar and rum have become the three major industries in Barbados, but none of them have anything to do with slaves. Gold coins have flowed into the pockets of British colonists.

Due to the cruel exploitation and oppression of white planters and the extremely bad working and living environment, Barbados slaves were unbearable, and the first large-scale slave uprising broke out in 1649. Although the black slave uprising was brutally suppressed by British colonists, the resistance struggle of black slaves, big and small, never stopped. 18 16, the slave Bossa uprising broke out again in Barbados.

At the same time, slave uprisings broke out in other Caribbean islands.

Black is a term used in some countries, usually in social-based racial classification or racial system, to describe people who are considered darker than others.

For many other individuals, communities and countries, "black" is also regarded as a derogatory, outdated, reductive or other unrepresentative label, so it is neither used nor defined.

Different societies adopt different standards for who is classified as "black", and these social structures also change with time. In many countries, social variables have no less influence on classification than skin color, and the social standard of "black" is different. In Britain, "black" is historically equivalent to "colored people" and is a general term for non-Europeans. In South Africa and Latin America, mixed-race people are not usually classified as "black".
