Why did so many Sichuanese move to Ankang?

Ankang City in Qinba Mountain area of southern Shaanxi has a deep ravine and a small population. A large number of people in mountainous areas can only escape disasters and get rid of poverty by immigrants. According to the large-scale southern Shaanxi migration plan launched by Shaanxi Province last year, Ankang will relocate 220,000 households with 880,000 people in 10, accounting for about 30% of the city's total population.
