Fozhou College of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Florida College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a higher education institution that mainly teaches Chinese medicine and also teaches western medicine. Founded in 1990, the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the earliest colleges of traditional Chinese medicine in the United States. The earliest name of the college was Shen John Institute of Oriental Medicine. At that time, it was a vocational school mainly teaching acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and its scale was relatively limited. From 65438 to 0995, Mr. Han, the successor president, had the foresight to think that Chinese medicine education must enter the national education system certification standard, which led to the college investing a lot of money and energy. On the one hand, the college raises the requirements for students' academic qualifications, stipulates that only students with college education or above are admitted, and at the same time changes and improves the teaching and outpatient course design. On the other hand, under extremely difficult circumstances, he explained the teaching concept of traditional Chinese medicine to the relevant person in charge of the national higher education department alone, which was understood and supported by the national education department. Later, the school began to teach western medicine physiology, pathology and clinical diagnostic medicine, and organically combined western medicine with Chinese medicine. After several years of development, the school has continuously improved and improved its management and teaching, and successfully passed a series of examinations and certifications by the Florida Higher Education Commission and the authoritative certification body of traditional Chinese medicine, becoming a college of traditional Chinese medicine incorporated into the federal higher education system in the United States. During this period, the college experienced several corresponding name changes. 1997, the college was renamed as the National Institute of Oriental Medicine, and the college began to recruit international students for the first time. In 2002, with the approval of Florida Independent College and University Committee, the college was officially renamed Florida Comprehensive Medical College to highlight its unique position in Florida and the eastern United States.

Florida College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the first college of traditional Chinese medicine certified by the American Accreditation Committee for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Higher Education (ACAOM) and the first college of traditional Chinese medicine chartered by the Florida Higher Education Committee (SBICU) to issue a master's degree certificate of traditional Chinese medicine. Our school enjoys a high reputation in the United States, especially in similar colleges in the southeastern United States.
