In Hubei Province, there are 4,228 rivers at all levels, with a total length of 59,200 kilometers, except the main streams of the Yangtze River and the Han River, including 4 rivers1with a total length of 100 kilometers. The Yangtze River flows through 26 counties and cities in the province from west to east, starting from Bayuxi estuary in Badong County in the west and reaching Binjiang Village in Huangmei County in the east, with a flow of 104 1 km.

According to the statistics of the Yangtze River Water Resources Commission, the water area of Danjiangkou Reservoir is 1.050 square kilometers, and that of Shiyan, Hubei Province is 620 square kilometers, accounting for 60% of the total area.

The coastline of Shiyan City is 3524.8 kilometers long, accounting for 76.4% of the total coastline. Of the 12 main tributaries flowing into Danjiangkou Reservoir, 10 is in Shiyan.

The mid-line project involves 6 counties, cities and 40 townships in two provinces, with 5 and 30 in Hubei respectively. There are 344,900 relocated immigrants, including Hubei1813,000, accounting for 52.6%. Hubei is the core water source area and the net transfer area of water resources.
