How did Gao Haining get from Nanking to Hongkong?

Gao Haining immigrated from Nanking to Hongkong with his parents when he was a child.

Gao Haining's father is from Hong Kong and his mother is from Nanjing. She lived with her grandmother in Qinhuai District of Nanjing until she was 13 years old, and then immigrated to Hong Kong with her parents and two younger brothers. Her family is not rich.
