Why are there so many Chinese in Malaysia?
Malaysian Chinese are mainly descendants of China people who migrated from China, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan during the hundreds of years from the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China. Chinese in Malaysia used to call themselves Tang people and Chinese in ancient times. After the founding of the Republic of China, they began to call themselves China people, Chinese and overseas Chinese. After Malaysia's independence, they began to change their names to China and Chinese, and became Malaysian nationals.
Because local Chinese also receive mother tongue education, although the Minister of Racial Policy and "traitors" have been oppressing and exploiting the interests of Chinese, Ma Guohua society has been trying to keep Chinese education. These unfair treatments have made the Ma Guohua community more United, and Chinese education has also given them a certain degree of racial identity, so most of them have not been assimilated, and they have retained the profound Chinese traditional culture.
I am Chinese in Malaysia, and I am very proud.
