The poorest city in Sichuan is Qionglai.

Qionglai City, located in the west of Chengdu Plain, Sichuan Province, was removed from the county to set up a city on June 6th. 1994. It is the fortress of Sichuan-Yunnan and Sichuan-Tibet highways. Known as "the first continent in South China" since ancient times, it is also the largest liquor base in China.
