Do overseas Chinese have a strong sense of identity with China people?
I think the first generation of Chinese immigrants generally agree with Chinese identity, after all, their relatives and friends are all in China. Unless they go abroad for political asylum, most people still want to make money and live in China. However, the second generation immigrants basically don't like to admit their China identity. Chinese is a foreign language for them. China is a strange country. They have never even been to China, so they don't have any friends or worries in China. They generally think that they are not from China. Even if they say they are Asians, they must feel that they belong to the United States and/or other countries.
