The biggest criticism of the college entrance examination household registration system now is that candidates with household registration in different regions receive different treatment when taking the college entrance examination. If the household registration system for the college entrance examination is abolished, it means that more candidates will inevitably be admitted. Beijing, in this case, from the perspective of the Beijing local government, the rights of candidates in the Beijing area will be harmed. Foreign candidates or their parents do not need to complain about this. Every local government will definitely provide conveniences and benefits to locals. The policy of lower admission scores for candidates with Beijing household registration than those with non-local registration will not change. The only thing that is likely to change is the college entrance examination in other places. That is to say, taking Beijing as an example, non-Beijing candidates can take the college entrance examination in Beijing, but the admission scores will still be the same as those in their place of residence. If non-Beijing candidates can also enjoy Beijing's local preferential treatment in the Beijing College Entrance Examination, the same phenomenon as the above will occur. Exams from all over the country will flood into the Beijing College Entrance Examination, causing Beijing's examination resources to collapse. Therefore, the college entrance examination household registration system will never be abolished. What may be changed can only be to shorten the admission difference between different household registration examinations as much as possible under the current household registration system.
