What is the origin of northern Shaanxi Yangko? Why is it called "Yangko"?

Nowadays, yangko is usually understood as one of the "folk dances". However, it should be noted that "yangko" is a general term today-it classifies similar folk dances into this category. Therefore, it is not only the performance of "transplanting rice in the field" that is called "Yangko". However, "yangko" must be related to farming. Experts and scholars believe that yangko has a long history. It should be accompanied by the gradual "agricultural revolution" on the ground in China ten thousand years ago. In fact, ancient people felt the same way.

Yangko, the music sung in the case of transplanting rice seedlings, is famous for its view that Yangko is the music enjoyed by ancient people when transplanting rice seedlings in gardening and metallurgy. According to the Records of Yuanling County, Hunan Province, in the case of vernal equinox, local farmers have the habit of planting pine bark as seedlings in the fields and then beating gongs and drums to sing congratulations.
