What are the major projects in China in recent years?

In recent years, China has made many outstanding achievements in civil engineering construction. Here are some examples:

1, Three Gorges Project

The Three Gorges Hydropower Station is the largest hydropower station in the world and the largest construction project in China. However, many problems caused by it, such as immigration, environment and so on, have been accompanied by great controversy since the moment it started construction. The Three Gorges Hydropower Station has more than ten functions such as shipping, power generation and planting. The Three Gorges Hydropower Station was approved by the National People's Congress of China in 1992 and officially started construction in 1994. On the afternoon of June 1 2003, water storage and power generation began, and it was fully completed in 2009.

2. Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway

Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway is a high-speed railway with long mileage, large investment and high standards since the founding of New China. The total length of the line from Beijing South Railway Station to shanghai hongqiao railway station is 13 18km, which runs through Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Hebei, Shandong, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces, connecting the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration. The total investment is about 220.9 billion yuan, and there are 23 stations.

3. Qinghai-Tibet Railway

Qinghai-Tibet Railway, referred to as Qinghai-Tibet Railway for short, refers to the railway from Qinghai Province to Xizang Autonomous Region, which belongs to one of the national trunk railways in China. After decades of efforts, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway has four projects and three projects: Xige section 8 14km, ready to start construction in 1950s, 1979 track laying and 1984 operation; Jiela section 1 142km (new line110km) has been shut down for a long time due to three world-class problems: frozen soil, extreme cold and lack of oxygen, and fragile ecology. Among them, the main project of Qiaodao Tunnel Group with the largest engineering quantity and the highest technical difficulty is about 29.6 kilometers long. The main project "Haizhong Bridge Tunnel" is 35.578 kilometers long, of which the submarine tunnel is about 6.75 kilometers long. Upon completion, it will be a part of G4- Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and G94- Pearl River Delta Ring Expressway.

5. Shanghai Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower

The Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower is one of Shanghai's landmark cultural landscapes, located in Lujiazui, Pudong New Area, with a height of about 468 meters. The building was completed in July of 199 1 and put into use in May of 1995. It undertakes 6 sets of wireless TV transmission services in Shanghai, covering 80 kilometers. The Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower is the first batch of AAAAA tourist attractions in China. There are space capsule, revolving restaurant, Shanghai historical development exhibition hall and other landscapes and facilities in the tower. 1995 is listed as one of the top ten new landscapes in Shanghai.
