What does Spanish mean?

Latino is a wide-ranging concept, and there are some differences and sometimes even contradictions in the definitions of different countries. Broadly speaking, Spain and Portugal, whose ancestors originated in Iberian Peninsula, Italians and French in neighboring countries, or Latin American hybrids whose mother tongue is Spanish or Portuguese, can all be called Latin Americans.
