A year later, Willie and Eddie won a lot of money by cheating at cards. Willie asked Eddie to borrow a car from his brother-in-law and go to Cleveland to find Ava. In the freezing and snowy Cleveland, Willie met her first period in ten years and went to the hot dog shop to pick up Ava from work. However, life in Cleveland is not very interesting. They still stay at home, either watching TV or playing poker with the menstruating old lady. At most, Billy, the young man who pursued Ava, invited them to see a movie. Everything in new york remains the same. Only on their last day, Ava took them to see the famous Great Lakes in Cleveland in the ice and snow.

On the way back, Willie saw that he had enough money in his hand, so he decided to call Ava back and let him go to Florida for a holiday. They took Ava, who complained about menstruation, on their way. There was nothing to say all the way. They stayed in a small hotel near Florida. Willie and Eddie left Ava in their room to bet on dogs by themselves. They lost all their money. Willie insisted on betting on horses to get his money back. Ava went out for a walk when she was bored, but she was accidentally mistaken by a black man, stuffed her with a bag of money and left.

Ava left some money for two people and went to the airport alone. After a while, there was a plane flying to Budapest. Willie really won the money back, but the meeting room found that Ava had left. The two packed their things and rushed to the airport. People at the airport told them that a girl had bought a plane ticket. They found that the plane was about to take off, and Willie quickly bought a plane ticket to pick up Ava. But she didn't come down after the plane took off, so Eddie had to drive away by himself.

Ava didn't get on the plane at last. She went back to the hotel room and sat on the bed.

This is Jia's masterpiece "Paradise Won by Different Guests". All movies are black and white, with few characters, few dialogues and few scenes. There seems to be no logical relationship between paragraphs, but the passage of time. Many times, what we see is three protagonists sitting there, looking dull. In the first half of the film, there are almost no scenes. The three protagonists don't even reveal their inner world. They can only find clues about their psychology and feelings from their few actions and words. But in the last short film, the emotions accumulated in the first half of the film have been vented in dramatic changes. Ava got a lot of money out of thin air, Ava left, Ava went back to Hungary, and Willie won the money. Everything is fine. Eva left, Willie caught up, the plane took off, and the two met again on the plane. A happy life in Hungary is just around the corner. Eva didn't get on the plane. She went back to the small room and sat down. The director still handled these scenes as calmly as the first half, without vulgar grandstanding or deliberate avoidance, but handled the only climax in the film with his usual attitude.

"Stranger than heaven", new york is a paradise, the United States is a paradise, and people who immigrate to the United States thousands of miles away are strangers in this paradise. Life in heaven is nothing more than watching TV, playing poker and eating fast food for them. The only job they can do is betting on horses and dogs. Is this really a new world? Is it really heaven?
