When I went back to Spain to study for the first time, my mind was focused on the 800-year history of the Moors, and I was not interested in contemporary things at all, even famous cities and big ports. There is only one small place in Madrid, but I always forget that it can't be: it's called Lavabiez, which means "washing feet". It seems that some books are called Zhuozu Street, which is not only antique, but also has a hint of oriental timbre.

The more authentic Spanish is, the more oriental it is.

At that time, before the beginning of the new century, immigrants were not as conspicuous as they are today. Lavabiez in my memory is a little old, maybe it's broken? It is connected with several narrow lanes winding down from the top of Lisso de Molina. The whole block follows the road, and the further down the slope, the older the building is.

Lavabiz is a corner of the old city. A subway station in Rawabiez, just in a square.

When we took to the street, we passed the parade. I followed the road against the flow of people and observed them one by one. There were always parades on the streets of Madrid in those years. It was like being attracted by a magnet, and then we followed "watching the parade". Although translated, I still remember what a girl in the team said: Many years ago today, the executioner died.

Finally, we understand that this day is Franco's funeral day and the parade is to protest against him.

The team went away, and we were reluctant to go, so we turned our heads and walked back.

Go back to Zhuozu Street.

Suddenly I saw a slogan written on the subway stop sign. Apparently, it was just written by the marchers. I feel very strange when I suddenly read it. I feel very strange because of my poor education and knowledge background. But it is like a special puncture, which makes people feel painful.

We arrived in Madrid in 2008, and the day after we arrived, we went to Rawabiez. I remember when I got up from the subway station.

I looked around, although I knew in my heart that the slogan could not be kept.

The streets and buildings haven't changed much, except that a group of Moroccan women pass by from time to time, and even a few Fujian people sit on street corners. My Zhuozu Street has become an immigrant's nest in Beijing today! At the subway exit, people of all colors climb up and down, in and out. It seems that they have no jobs, but they are in a hurry. But there are also many idle people; Not only I, but also people are sitting in every armchair in the subway exit square. Indians, Arabs, Eastern Europeans, Americans, blacks and whites, and brown-skinned Latin Americans.

Along the stone steps, I took the subway to the ground and admired the small United Nations in this square. Glanced at the stop sign when going down the steps; The hot sun in Spain makes the letters convex and concave. Needless to say, that slogan is long gone.

Now I feel its urgency. Abandoned for more than ten years, I didn't expect it to linger and never leave. It's really different for Spaniards to ask such questions. "In your daily habits", if you stick to the original text, it is "an attitude that accompanies your daily performance"-what are our daily habits? What is our attitude?

Yes, the "everyday" that we are used to makes me think deeply.
