What are Chinese, Chinese and overseas Chinese?
China people are of China origin, but their nationality is not China.
China people are foreigners, but they are essentially from China.
On the other hand, China people are also the collective name of all China people.
China people living outside China refer to China citizens who hold China passports, have no nationality of the host country, but have the right of permanent residence in the host country. Sooner or later, such people will either be naturalized in the host country and give up their China nationality, or they will be naturalized as the first generation immigrants in the host country. We all call them China people.
As for Chinese, they are overseas Chinese born outside China, their descendants and their descendants.
Due to the changes and development of the contemporary international situation, especially since the Second World War, overseas Chinese outside China have gradually turned into Chinese. The legislation of the United States and China does not adopt dual nationality. Therefore, both China people and Chinese people have become citizens of the host country and become one of the multi-ethnic groups in the United States. From the perspective of nationality law, they are no longer "China people" but "Americans". Then, Chinese education in the United States, specifically, should be aimed at Chinese Americans. Therefore, Chinese education in the United States today is not a traditional expatriate education, but a real Chinese education.
The Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Returned Overseas Chinese in People's Republic of China (PRC) clearly stipulates: "Overseas Chinese are China citizens designated to live abroad."
The State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and other departments explained that foreign Chinese refer to people who were originally overseas Chinese or descendants of Chinese and later joined or acquired the nationality of their country of residence.
The Central Committee has repeatedly stressed that the work of overseas Chinese is a political and policy-oriented work. The work of Chinese must be strictly different from that of overseas Chinese in concept, and they should not be treated as ordinary foreigners, but also pay attention to the nationality differences between Chinese and overseas Chinese. In recent years, China's relations with other countries, especially neighboring countries, have greatly improved. However, some countries, especially Southeast Asian countries, are still wary of me, and Chinese is still a long-standing sensitive issue in China's relations with some countries. Governments at all levels and relevant departments must strictly abide by the principles and policies formulated by the central authorities in their contacts with China.
