Instructions for applying to visit relatives and settle in Taiwan

1. Application conditions

1. Residents of this city who need to settle in Taiwan because their spouses or immediate relatives have settled in Taiwan ;

2. Those who need to travel to and from Taiwan to visit relatives, friends, accept and handle property, handle weddings and funerals, etc.

2. Acceptance of information

(1) Submit an application form

1. Those applying for family visits must submit the completed "Application Form for Residents of Guangdong Province to Visit Relatives and Business in Hong Kong and Macao".

2. To apply for settlement, submit the completed "Application Form for Residents of Guangdong Province to Settl in Hong Kong and Macao".

(1) Since the Ministry of Public Security has not yet formulated an approval form for mainland residents to travel to and from Taiwan, the above form is temporarily used and filled in with a pen or signature pen. Ballpoint pens cannot be used)

( 2) Three recent full-face color photos with light blue background of the applicant (size: 33X48mm), one of which should be pasted on the application form and stamped with the seal of the unit that issued the opinion.

(3) Submit a copy of the applicant’s resident ID card, household register or other household registration certificate, and submit the originals for verification.

(4) Opinions from the applicant’s unit or police station (opinions should be filled in directly on the application form).

The units responsible for issuing opinions on applicants are:

1. Public officials. The personnel and organization department of the unit shall issue opinions, sign and seal according to the cadre management authority of the unit, and the leader of the final review unit shall issue opinions and seals. Current department-level cadres must submit a political approval document from the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee. Members of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, members of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference or above, and leading cadres at or above the deputy ministerial level (including deputy provincial level) who travel to Taiwan for private reasons must submit the approval document from the Central Leading Group on Taiwan Affairs;

2. Company employees. The legal representative of the enterprise ("foreign-funded" enterprises shall have the Chinese person in charge) or the personnel and security department of the unit authorized by it shall sign the opinion; if the legal representative applies in person, the corresponding personnel management department shall issue opinions ("foreign-funded" enterprises, private, Individual enterprise legal persons apply on behalf of the Chinese person in charge, and the opinions shall be issued by the public security police station where their registered permanent residence is located);

3. Unemployed residents or unemployed persons who have resigned or resigned. Relevant certificates such as unemployment and resignation must be submitted, and opinions shall be issued by the police station where the household registration is located;

4. Divorced, retired or file-affiliated personnel. Opinions will be issued by the personnel file management department;

5. Students in universities, technical secondary schools, and middle schools will have opinions issued by their schools (during holidays, opinions can be issued by the public security police station where the household registration is located);

6. Elderly people over 60 years old (not divorced or retired) or children under 16 years old who go to Taiwan to visit relatives are exempted from submitting opinions from the unit or public security station, but children under 14 years old must submit proof of consent from their parents or guardians to leave the country. ,

(5) Submit certificates related to the cause of application.

1. Relevant certificates that persons applying to settle in Taiwan must submit:

(1) For couples reuniting, submit a copy of the spouse’s ID card and a copy of the entry permit issued by the Taiwan authorities (original for verification) and a copy of the marriage certificate issued by the foreign-related marriage authority of the civil affairs department in the place where one party’s registered permanent residence is in mainland China (original for verification). If the marriage certificate submitted by the applicant was not issued in the Mainland, a certificate of marital status issued by the Mainland notary department must be submitted.

(2) If you are seeking refuge with an immediate relative, submit a copy of the ID card of the relative who has settled in Taiwan and a copy of the entry permit issued by the Taiwan authorities, and submit the originals for verification.

2. Relevant certificates that applicants must submit for visiting relatives, visiting friends, receiving and handling property, handling weddings and funerals, etc.:

(1) Visiting relatives, visiting patients, visiting friends If you are residing in Taiwan, you must submit a copy of the ID card of your relatives and friends who have settled in Taiwan and a copy of the travel permit for entering Taiwan issued by the Taiwan authorities, and submit the originals for verification;

(2) If you accept or handle property, you must submit a notarized Relevant certificates of legal rights to the property and a copy of the travel permit issued by the Taiwan authorities, and the originals must be submitted for inspection;

(3) If dealing with marriage affairs, a copy of the spouse’s ID card and marriage certificate must be submitted. A copy of the certificate (submit the original for verification) or a notarized certificate of marital status and a copy of the travel document issued by the Taiwan authorities, and submit the original for verification;

(4) When handling the funeral of relatives and friends, it must be submitted to the Taiwan region Copies of identity cards, relevant letters or death notices of relatives and friends, as well as copies of travel documents issued by the Taiwan authorities. The originals should be submitted for verification.

3. Acceptance Agency

The Household Registration Section of the District Public Security Bureau where the applicant’s household registration is located is responsible for accepting applications.

4. Working time limit

The working time limit is 15 working days.
