What is a New Zealand WTR immigrant visa?

WR6 Work-to-Residence Policy ",WTR visa is often not applied by you voluntarily, but when you apply for New Zealand Green Card (PR), the Immigration Bureau will grant it to you voluntarily.

When applying for skilled migration to New Zealand, the Immigration Bureau will give you three results:

You are granted residence (green card is granted).

We grant you a job visa for SMC (give SMC a worker logo [WTR job logo]).

Your application was rejected.

According to the work-to-residence policy, applicants who have obtained WTR visas have nine months to find a skilled job in New Zealand, and only those who have successfully obtained a skilled job are eligible to apply for permanent residency.

Please note that this does not guarantee that you can get public relations status. Jonathan Coleman, Minister of Immigration, once said: We have made it clear to applicants that the work-to-residence policy does not guarantee employment, job opportunities or residence.

Immigration did not give PR, but WTR, because SMC requires "skilled immigrant applicants to prove their ability to live and contribute in New Zealand". When the visa officer hears your application for immigration, he is skeptical about your employment and settlement ability after entering the country. WTR is usually approved because the applicant has no job guarantee when applying for skilled migration. After obtaining WTR, overseas skilled immigrants need to enter the country within the specified latest date, otherwise they will face visa invalidation. After landing in New Zealand, applicants must find a technical job within 9 months before they can continue to submit immigration applications. If you still don't hold an invitation for skilled employment before the deadline, you have to choose to leave the country or change your visa to find other ways to stay.
