Compared with the south, the north is short of water. South-to-North Water Diversion Project has been built in China, and the middle line scheme of this project is to transfer water from Danjiangkou Reservoir in Hubei to North China via Jingmen and Jingzhou.

Last year's National Day, I went to Jingzhou to play and specially drove along the aqueduct for a while. The river is wide and not shallow, and ships sail on it from time to time. The water delivery will not be too small.

So there is no need to build culverts, which is not only expensive, but also difficult to manage.

Since it is possible to transfer water, why not increase the intensity of transferring water to the north during the flood in Hubei? On the one hand, in the rainy season in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the water level of the river is high, and the natural water transfer to the north is also larger than usual; On the other hand, it is related to the climate in China. Although the north is short of water, it also has rainy season and summer, that is, there are many rainstorms in the north of China in summer. In other words, theoretically, summer in northern China is more abundant than other seasons. We can imagine that in the arid north, once there is too much water, there will be floods, and its defense ability is far less than that in the south, which may cause greater losses!

For thousands of years, the natural flowing water in the Yangtze River basin has formed countless lakes. These lakes, large and small, can store floods in Hubei, so only some rivers enter the Yangtze River. But what about the rivers and lakes in Hubei now? How much has the number of lakes decreased? How much has the existing lake area shrunk, and how deep is the river that enters the Yangtze River? How strong is the river bank? I don't know what these situations are like.

All I know is that the rainstorm has been coming for many days. I know that the dykes of banks and lakes burst and caused floods. I know how to fight floods. What do those Jianghu tycoons usually do? The mouth exploded, flooded, people disappeared, and the house fell down, which attracted people's attention. The Yangtze River is the mother river of China, and it is a kind and peaceful river. If you don't love her, will she still love you if she has a temper? The kindness of the Yangtze River has raised the most beautiful, happiest and richest city in China, but you usually don't care about her and protect her. When storms and floods come, they will wreak havoc at will. It is human nature that the mother river can do nothing to destroy the natural terrain of the Yangtze River. This is a wake-up call for thousands of years.
