How to be a good mother?

From pregnancy to childbirth, it is not easy to be a mother; In the process of raising and educating children, it is more difficult to be a good mother. A good mother should do the following five things.

(1) Improve one's ideological and moral cultivation and set an example for children. Mothers and children have the earliest, most and longest contact, so they are the most direct and concrete examples for children to learn. Mother's words and deeds will exert a profound influence on children, just like a textbook without words. As Tolstoy said: "The essence of educating children lies in educating themselves, and self-education is the most powerful way for parents to influence their children."

(2) Learn to care, cultivate and educate children's scientific knowledge. To educate children well, we must understand children and master relevant scientific knowledge and methods. Some mothers accompany their children every day, watching them grow up day by day, but they don't know much about them. This tells people that it is not enough to really understand children only through real life contact, but also to master certain scientific knowledge, such as learning some physiology, learning some child psychology, learning some pedagogy and so on. Understand and master the physical and psychological characteristics of the only child, master the characteristics, principles and methods of family education, and use them flexibly in combination with reality.

(3) Take care of the only child, don't prefer boys to girls, be patient, don't spoil, don't beat and scold. To educate children, we must first love them. Love is the starting point of education and a great inspiring force. Losing the love of parents is the greatest regret in life. But love can't be separated from reason, and if you love your head off, it will become doting. We should combine love with strict requirements. Strict doesn't mean fierce, it doesn't mean abusive, but it should be persuasive and patient. Beating and scolding children does not mean that parents have authority, but that parents are incompetent. Beating a child can only touch the skin and flesh, which is not conducive to raising awareness, and more importantly, it will hurt the child's self-esteem.

(4) Actively cooperate with schools and society to do a good job in children's education. Mothers should cooperate closely with schools, actively and truthfully reflect the situation of their children to schools and teachers, and do not hide or excuse their own shortcomings, so that schools and teachers can fully grasp the situation of students and carry out correct education. Parents living in remote and poor areas should also conscientiously implement the relevant provisions of the Compulsory Education Law to ensure that their children can successfully complete their school education for 6-9 years, and must never force their children to drop out of school because of temporary difficulties, which will affect their lifelong quality and future prospects.

(5) Cultivate children's all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and beauty. Mothers should establish educational concepts and new talent concepts to cultivate children's all-round development. We should be liberated from the one-sided pursuit of high scores and the pursuit of enrollment rate, and change the concept and practice of attaching importance to intellectual education, ignoring moral education and physical education, giving up aesthetic education and labor education, and judging heroes by their scores. It is necessary to make clear the great significance of children's all-round development, broaden their horizons, cultivate their activity ability and ability to use knowledge, develop their hobbies, and let them study hard and make progress every day after entering school.
