Where is the new grandma from?

With the background of 1995, The New Arrival tells the story of a family from Taiwan Province Province of China who moved from Washington, USA to Orlando, Florida. Interestingly, the actor's grandmother is from Tianjin, his father is Korean, and his mother is from Taiwan Province Province, China. Taken together, this combination seems to be quite in line with immigrant families.

The New Arrival is adapted from the memoir Fresh Getting Off the Boat: Memoirs by Chinese-American chef Eddie Huang. It is the first sitcom featuring Asian-American families in the past 20 years, and all the protagonists are Asian actors.
