Basic Procedures

Wuhan registered residents who want to go abroad for private purposes should follow the following procedures to apply for a passport.

(1) Receive the form.

Applicants can go to the Exit-Entry Administration Office of the Wuhan Municipal Public Security Bureau or the Jiangnan Acceptance Point (5th Floor, East Lake New Technology Development Zone Management Committee) to obtain the "Ordinary Passport Application Form for the People's Republic of China" , or you can log on to the Internet and download the form directly from the "Wuhan Hotline" (website: www.wuhan.net.cn) (printed on A4 format paper). Residents of Jiang'an, Jianghan, Qiaokou, Wuchang, Caidian, Jiangxia, Huangpi and Xinzhou districts can also go to the public security bureau where their household registration is located to obtain the form.

(2) Submit an application.

Residents of Jiang'an, Jianghan, Qiaokou and Wuchang districts can apply at the branch where their household registration is located. Residents of Caidian, Jiangxia, Huangpi and Xinzhou districts must apply at the public security bureau where their household registration is located. Other residents of this city should apply at the Exit and Entry Administration Office of the Municipal Bureau or the Jiangnan acceptance point (5th floor of East Lake High-tech Management Committee).

The applicant must be submitted in person and submit the following materials:

(3) Receive the acceptance receipt

When receiving the receipt, the applicant must carefully check its content and sign for confirmation.

(4) Receive certificates.

Applicants should present their ID cards, receipts, and payment receipts to receive their licenses at the time indicated on the receipt. If you really cannot come to collect the certificate, you can entrust a relative to collect it with the ID card of the recipient, a receipt, a payment receipt and relevant documents that can clearly prove the family relationship (such as a household register). Applicants can also voluntarily choose postal express delivery. The postal courier will pay the certificate fee on their behalf, and the payment receipt will be sent to the applicant along with the certificate.

Time limit for applying for certificates

The exit and entry administration department of the public security organ will complete the examination and approval work and issue the certificate within 10 working days from the date of acceptance (i.e. the date of issuance of the acceptance receipt); if For the postal express delivery method, the approval process will be completed and the certificate will be issued within 8 working days from the date of acceptance. (Except for special circumstances).

If the passport extension, renewal or reissue is not done by the original approval authority, the current approval authority will verify and notify the original approval authority. It takes 20 working days for a passport extension or renewal, and 3 months for a passport reissue. .

The time limit for applying for an entry and exit pass is 15 working days.

If the applicant has special circumstances and needs urgent processing, the application can be processed within 5 working days after submitting the corresponding supporting materials.

Special circumstances refer to:

1. When traveling abroad for treatment or to visit critically ill patients, medical records are required;

2. When traveling abroad for funerals, a death certificate or Notice issued by the embassy or consulate on handling the funeral of the deceased;

3. When going abroad to participate in emergency business activities, you need to submit an overseas invitation letter and employer certificate;

4. The start time of studying abroad If it is less than one month, you need to submit an overseas admission notice;

5. If you are sent to study abroad by the public, you need to submit a completed and stamped JW108 form;

6. Entry permit or visa to the country of destination If the validity period is about to expire, a valid visa must be submitted.

Relevant regulations on prohibition of leaving the country

1. Defendants in criminal cases and criminal suspects identified by the public security organs, people's procuratorates or people's courts;

2 . Those who have been notified by the People's Court that they have unsettled civil cases and are not allowed to leave the country;

3. Those who have been sentenced to a sentence and are serving their sentences;

4. Those who are being reeducation through labor;

Passport Renewal

If the license holder has one of the following circumstances, he can apply for passport renewal (personnel with specific identities must submit proof of registration report to their unit):

(1) The passport has been extended twice and is about to expire and cannot be extended any more;

(2) The passport visa page has been used up;

(3) The passport is damaged If the passport cannot continue to be used, the public security organ will renew it within 3 months from the date of acceptance;

(4) The passport has been altered and the passport has been punished by the relevant departments, and the punishment has been completed for 3 months;

(5) Other special circumstances recognized by the original approval authority or the superior authority.

Passport extension (97 version passport)

Passport holders can apply for extension within 6 months before the expiration of the passport, and must submit their household registration and ID card (personnel with specific status) Submit proof of registration report to your unit). If the country of destination requires that the passport be valid for more than 6 months when issuing a visa, relevant certificates issued by the immigration and visa authorities of the country of destination or the embassy or consulate in my country should be submitted. Reissue of passport after loss

If a Chinese citizen’s passport is lost, after obtaining a loss report certificate issued by the public security agency or other departments in the country where he is stationed, he can report it to the public security agency or us. Apply for a passport reissue at the embassy or consulate abroad (personnel with specific status must submit proof of registration report to their unit). The public security organs or our embassies and consulates abroad cannot issue more than two valid passports to the same applicant.

(1) Domestic residents who lose their passport before leaving the country should promptly report the loss to the public security agency (police station) in the place where the passport was lost, obtain a loss report certificate, and submit it to the provincial level where the passport was originally issued or where the current household registration is. The statement was published in newspapers designated by the public security organs (Changjiang Daily, Hubei Daily).
