What does the EU mean?

EU is the abbreviation of European Union. The European Union is a political and economic union composed of many European countries, aiming at promoting economic, political and social cooperation among its member countries. Member States of the European Union enjoy some sovereign rights and policy-making through * * * to achieve closer integration, so as to promote and maintain peace, prosperity and stability within Europe.

As of the closing date of my knowledge (September 221), there are 27 member countries in the European Union, and they have jointly decided a series of policies, including trade, competition, environment, monetary (countries using the euro), immigration and so on. The EU also has its own legal system and decision-making bodies, including the European Parliament, Council of Europe and the Council of Europe.

The establishment of the European Union aims at preventing Europe from falling into war again and promoting the common interests of Europe through deepening cooperation. It has also become one of the largest economies in the world and plays an important role in international affairs. It should be noted that the European Union is constantly developing and evolving, so there may be some new changes and developments, which may affect the nature and functions of the European Union.
