Hongyan town is located in the northwest of Bazi, Midu County, surrounded by mountains on three sides, near Michuan in the south, Fengyi in the north, Xiangyun in the east and Weishan in the west. Jiuding Mountain in China is the highest peak in Midu, with an altitude of 3 1 17.9 meters. The elevation of the dam area is1720m, and the terrain gradually decreases from north to south. Chishui River in the east and Shao Qing and Wangjiaqing at Qiaotou in the west flow into Pixiong River. This town is rich in resources. Mineral resources are mainly Jiudingshan mining area, including copper, iron, molybdenum and limestone. Water sources include goddess Longquan and Shuimoping Longquan. Cultural sites include Baiyaguo Ancient City Site, Jindianwo Site of Geluofeng Palace, Gunv Temple, one of the eight scenic spots in Zhaozhou in Ming Dynasty, and Xuan Yin Temple inscribed by monks.
