Once you arrive in Australia, you and your family can apply for a work permit. For the main applicant who applies for a student visa with a work permit, he can work up to 20 hours a week during "normal school days" and unlimited hours during "non-school days".

But there are exceptions:

1, doing the internship work stipulated by the school curriculum, therefore, it is not counted as 20 hours.

If you are a volunteer, you must apply for a work permit even if you are not paid, and this will be counted within 20 hours.

For family members with work permits: You can only work 20 hours a week at any time unless:

1.573 applicants studying for master's degree in teaching, their spouses can work without restriction as long as their families start classes. 2.574 family members of applicants for master's and doctoral degrees in research.

2. Australian aid agency AusAid and the family members of the 576 visa guaranteed by the Australian Ministry of Defence. Please remember: your family should also abide by the state work laws. If your child is under the age of 15 at school, he can't work.

According to this law, I analyze that the spouses of 572 visa holders and 573 undergraduate visa holders who are studying in TAFE should be careful, because you can only work for 20 hours!

Another question is when to start calculating the normal school period. Please refer to the following basis:

1, for the school to publicize the semester, including the examination period;

2. If you have completed the credits required by the school and the COE is valid;

If you are studying another course, your main course credits will be transferred to the time gap between your main courses.
