Brief introduction of Asimov

Introduction:

Isaac asimov, an American Jew, is one of the best science fiction writers in this century. He has won Hugo Award, the highest honor in science fiction, and Master Award, the lifetime achievement award of Nebula.

Bases, Robots and other series are Asimov's most popular masterpieces. These seemingly independent stories run through each other.

Asimov is not only a doctor of chemistry at Columbia University, but also a world-famous all-around writer. He wrote as many as 170 Yu Ben in his life, covering science, mathematics, physics, astronomy, biology, medicine, humanities and literature, religion, history, geography and other fields.

Asimov is serious about humanism. He often gives speeches related to it, and writes articles and even whole books to discuss it. He believes that science is a great and unified principle on earth.

He used science fiction, a special literary form, to popularize scientific knowledge, and at the same time urged people to consider the relationship between human beings and science and technology, history and other aspects, and the coordinated development of human beings and the whole society. In his later years, he became the president of the American Humanism Association until his death.

In Asimov's speeches and many non-fiction works, a recurring theme is that he believes that the world is overpopulated, and whether this tendency will continue will be the key to the future, which is related to whether the future world is full of disasters and famines, or whether it can develop healthily so that its residents can enjoy a stable and comfortable life.

In his novels, he also emphasized this theme. The steel cave depicts the nightmare of the earth's metropolis and the control situation that must be controlled by computer because of overpopulation and food shortage. In this book, Asimov thinks that overpopulation and food shortage are almost inevitable features in the future.

Asimov is regarded as a "guardian of reason, science and skepticism", that is, a pioneer fighter against pseudoscience, supernatural phenomena and religious superstitions. He has done a lot of work in these areas with his own works. He calls himself a "serious school" in science fiction. He emphasized the scientific nature of his works and opposed shoddy and unfounded ideas.
