Introduction to Huangbizhuang Reservoir Project

Huangbizhuang Reservoir is located on the main stream of the Hutuo River near Huangbizhuang Town, Luquan City, Hebei Province. It is about 30km away from the provincial capital Shijiazhuang City. It is an important control point in the middle and lower reaches of the Hutuo River, one of the two major tributaries of the Ziya River system in the Haihe River Basin. The total storage capacity of the large (Ⅰ) type water conservancy project is 1.21 billion cubic meters. The mission of the reservoir is mainly to prevent floods, but also to take into account urban water supply, irrigation, power generation and breeding, etc., and can obtain huge economic benefits. The Huangbizhuang Reservoir was planned and constructed by the Beijing Survey and Design Institute of the Ministry of Water Resources and Electric Power in May 1958 and the "Huangbizhuang Reservoir Project Preliminary Design Document" was compiled. In October of that year, the Reservoir Engineering Bureau officially started construction and construction. It blocked floods in 1959 and stored water in 1960. After experiencing a severe flood in 1963, it was expanded in 1965 and reached its current size in 1968. After that, some problems were exposed during operation of some projects, and several reinforcements were carried out. The total investment in the project is 401.03 million yuan. After the reservoir is completed, the safety standards will be adopted once in a thousand years.

The land acquisition elevation of Huangbizhuang Reservoir is 120.0m, submerging 40,900 acres of cultivated land, the resettlement elevation is 125.0m, and the relocated population is 46,617 people.

The original designed irrigation area of ??Huangbizhuang Reservoir is 2.737 million acres, and the current effective irrigation area is 1.57 million acres, with an annual irrigation water consumption of 560 million cubic meters. The urban water supply is 100 million cubic meters.

The risk relief and reinforcement of Huangbizhuang Reservoir has been basically completed. The total storage capacity of the reservoir is 1.21 billion cubic meters, the flood diversion storage capacity is 736.63 million cubic meters, the active storage capacity is 464 million cubic meters, the dead storage capacity is 069.68 million cubic meters, and the silted storage capacity is 0.32 billion cubic meters, the dead water level is 111.5m, the starting water level is 114m, the flood limit water level is 114m, the normal water storage level is 120m, the design flood level is 125.84m, and the check flood level is 128m.
