Passport processing flow:

Conditions for handling passports

Citizens go abroad for non-official reasons such as going abroad to settle down, visit relatives, study, obtain employment, travel and engage in business activities.

In any of the following circumstances, the exit-entry administration of the public security organ shall not issue an ordinary passport:

1, without People's Republic of China (PRC) nationality;

2. Unable to prove identity;

3. Practicing fraud in the application process;

4, was sentenced to punishment is serving a sentence;

5, the people's court informed that there are unresolved civil cases can not leave the country;

6. Belonging to the defendant or criminal suspect in a criminal case;

7. The relevant authorities in the State Council believe that leaving the country will cause harm to national security or cause great losses to national interests;

8. If a citizen is subject to criminal punishment for obstructing the administration of the country (border) or is repatriated for illegal exit, illegal residence or illegal employment, the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ shall not issue an ordinary passport within six months to three years from the date of completion of the punishment or repatriation.
